Amy Carruthers, Partner, is a lawyer with Fasken Martineau’s Global Energy Group. She is a corporate commercial solicitor with extensive expertise in the energy industry. Amy regularly advises clients regarding the purchase and sale of energy, including structured energy products involving renewable energy credits and other green attributes; the development, construction and financing of generation and transmission facilities and related infrastructure; the negotiation of consultation, funding arrangements and impact benefit agreements with First Nations and other Aboriginal groups; and compliance with Canadian derivatives regulations relating to energy transactions.
Amy also has significant experience advising clients with respect to a wide range of corporate transactions and commercial activities gained from over ten years of private practice, including buying and selling businesses, key assets and equipment, constructing new facilities, and investing in private companies, joint ventures and partnerships, as well as negotiating and drafting complex commercial contracts. Most recently, prior to joining Fasken Martineau, Amy was in-house counsel with BC Hydro.
