Lisa Milburn is the chief operating officer for BMO Insurance. Based in Toronto, she is responsible for leading the Creditor and Travel Insurance business distributed through BMO Bank of Montreal, as well as the strategy and operations for BMO Insurance including the customer, advisor and employee experience as well as client services, claims, contracting and technology transformation.
In addition to her role as COO, Lisa is the executive sponsor for BMO for Women, an enterprise program developed to help our businesses come together as one bank to improve the way we build lasting client relationships with female entrepreneurs and affluent women.
Lisa joined BMO Financial Group in 2008 as vice-president, corporate communications and was responsible for centralizing communications across the bank to improve strategic communications, executive communications and issues management. In 2014, Lisa was promoted to Chief Administrative Officer, Canadian Personal and Commercial Banking and North American Channels. As CAO, Lisa led several key initiatives including business strategy renewal, investment planning and target setting, the implementation of a risk appetite governance model and the roll out of Canadian P&C’s Ways to Win customer loyalty framework. Lisa is a proven leader with a reputation for building collaborative teams and creating an inspiring and rewarding employee experience.
Lisa is a member of the bank’s Leadership Council and is a Board Director for BMO Trust Company. She is an active volunteer in support of the community participating in the annual BMO Employee Giving, Walk so Kids can Talk and BMO volunteer day campaigns. Outside of the bank, she volunteers for CivicAction as a DiverseCity Fellows mentor, the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs (FEW) mentor and sits on the advisory board for Ryerson University’s MBA program.
Outside of work, Lisa spends time with her husband, teenage son and daughter and German Short-haired puppy named Alpine. She loves being active, spending as much time as possible outdoors, enjoying the cottage and travelling.
